Starting June 28th 2015, Food Cart Fest will take place every Sunday from 12 PM-5 PM at 215 West 1st Avenue (between the Cambie Street Bridge and the Olympic Village). The site is next to the Seawall. You will need to check this festival out, so keep the date open. One of the participating food trucks is from one of the amazing restaurants I reviewed…YOLKS.
About a week ago, Optik/Telus TV gave a free pizza to all their customers to celebrate the 5th season of Game of Thrones. You order it online. The next day, it gets delivered right to your house by the Telus van. The pizza tastes amazing. The names of the pizza (see them types of pizza below) are all Game of Thrones related. They are very creative names, looks and tastes awesome so I give it…

You’ve got to check out Yolks. The whole restaurant its self is amazing. The food is great and the service is wonderful. They have really nice servers at Yolks and so is the owner. Inside the restaurant is a machine that literally squeezes oranges to make orange juice. It tastes great. Above is some pics of the food. The first 1 is their Egg Benedict, the second dish is the hash browns, and the last picture is their pancakes. The presentation and creativity is super. The only bad thing I can say about Yolks is that it is quite busy between 9 AM-1 PM. Otherwise I would say that their food is top notch. You’ve got to eat here.
P.S- If you have a Facebook account, be sure to use #nojokeitsyolks in your post. 😛
Be sure to include your favourite recipe in OTHER option in the poll. If you do be sure to post the recipe in the comments below and include your name so I know who gave me it. If you post it in the comments, I’ll happily post it on my blog.
Italian Cooking week has officially started. Today’s recipe is MARBLE CAKE. This is a recipe I got from my cooking class. My cooking teacher Mrs. D made these recipes. All the recipes in this event I did not get this off the internet. They are from my Italian Cooking Class. This is a really easy recipe as long a you follow the instructions. Here it is.
1 cup soft butter
2 cups sugar
1 cup milk 2 ½ cups flour
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp salt
3 tbsp cocoa powder
Use 2 separate bowls for the wet ingredients and dry ingredients
Add following dry ingredients into mixing bowl in this order: flour, baking powder then salt.
Cream butter well, then add sugar, eggs and vanilla, continue beating well at medium speed.
Reduce beater/mixer to low speed and alternate pouring milk and dry ingredients into the wet ingredients bowl..
Reserve 3 TBSP of batter in a bowl.
To the cocoa powder, add 1 tbsp warm or hot water and 1 tbsp of sugar, mixing it well before adding it to the reserved batter.
Drop the cocoa batter in cake, swirl both batters together with a butter knife. DO NOT STIR.
